We are United by Many
Uganda’s stall at the World Culture Festival held at the STACC, St Albans on May 4 showed the world that we are more united than devoted. The stall was among the many that coloured up the International Youth Fellowship Organised World Culture Day in Melbourne, attracting countries from across the world.
Uganda and South Sudan were the African representatives at the event had different cultures display their traditional games and foods, dances and fashion.
The annual event that showed how the world is but a global village saw people from different continents play games like throwing and picking up stones and also playing Omweso, a traditional board game. Though they had different names and at times the rules changed, they all agreed that it was the same games they used to play back home despite being thousands of miles apart, showing how the world is connected.
Ugandans Melbourne Victoria table displayed many cultural items that sparked conversation and curiosity about Uganda and our traditions.
